we filipinos are very familiar with the phrase “coca-cola body” and how in the 70′s and 80′s it was a rather hip compliment, if not sometimes tacky and all too fresh, for shapely female physiques. little did we know then that the real coca-cola body, that is, the contoured bottle that has quite become an icon itself, would be clothed by some of the most illustrious names in fashion.
this year, it’s karl lagerfeld (once again). we know how he lost 90 pounds on a strict diet of stewed veggies and diet coke (which he says he drinks in a crystal goblet. wouldn’t be surprised if this is indeed true). or how he is often photographed with diet coke in his hand. we also know how this has become a hydration staple for many models. the drink now probably occupies its own food group in the fashion world.

man, how much i used to love stars. it was a minor obsession. i say minor because i wouldn’t die for them, but obsession nonetheless because i spent good money to acquire them and a lot of effort to stick small luminous stars all over my room’s ceiling and all four walls. they were all over me in the form of jewelries, clothes, downloaded logos (remember those pixelated things in the 90′s?), school supplies and tons of doodles that seem to ooze out of every page of every subject notebook.
i’m still very fascinated by stars, though i don’t have the natural inclination to doodle them as often anymore. but i could just imagine how my old self would have burst into spontaneous broadway song at the sight of dolce & gabbana’s a/w 2011 collection.
doesn’t it just bother you that some people call this hat fedora, while others call it trilby? ok, maybe it doesn’t bother you, but wouldn’t you just like to know once and for all whether it’s a fedora or a trilby? no particular reason aside from adding to your stock of trivial knowledge.
dreaming of being a designer or a fashion buyer but just couldn’t manage to squeeze into the monstrously deluded fashion world?
here’s your chance. with garmz and modcloth.

ah, yes. still too lazy to assemble meaningful text. but i can’t let the first month of the year pass without a post.
and there’s nothing like dreaming of material things to stroke the superficial soul. good thing i didn’t apply for a credit card here. for the sake of my mental health, i most likely wouldn’t.
