that doesn’t make sense, i know. i’m that befuddled as to how people can’t seem to believe pia toscano was eliminated this week.
alrighty, it’s idol time for me today…

dolce & gabbana runway photos from coco’s tea party.
man, how much i used to love stars. it was a minor obsession. i say minor because i wouldn’t die for them, but obsession nonetheless because i spent good money to acquire them and a lot of effort to stick small luminous stars all over my room’s ceiling and all four walls. they were all over me in the form of jewelries, clothes, downloaded logos (remember those pixelated things in the 90′s?), school supplies and tons of doodles that seem to ooze out of every page of every subject notebook.
i’m still very fascinated by stars, though i don’t have the natural inclination to doodle them as often anymore. but i could just imagine how my old self would have burst into spontaneous broadway song at the sight of dolce & gabbana’s a/w 2011 collection.
i haven’t been watching idol as much as i used to. because now i have this thing called “job” that keeps getting in the way of things…
steven tyler, jennifer lopez and randy jackson. steven is always great to watch, but it wasn’t until the other night when they had to bleep him a few times did he become a thrill to listen to, because i wish he were more scathing in his remarks. wait… he was bleeped for things he said that are the exact opposite of scathing remarks; he’s just too kind most of the time. jlo, well, she’s like the next paula abdul, but everyone who knows me knows that there is only one paula in my books. and randy… oh, randy. i think this year he is beginning to sound sensible. is it because he’s the veteran judge?
i miss simon.
after a decade of watching it live, i’m missing the 2011 one. i used to pull a no-show at work for this, but after my extended leave, perhaps another rest day was too much to ask.
the worst part of this is the primetime telecast here in fiji is way past my bedtime. yep, i’m like a grade school kid who needs to be in bed at a certain hour. it’s called discipline, bitches. a.k.a. best skincare routine.
why i’d hate missing this year’s oscars: if trent reznor wins best original score for his work in the social network, i would miss seeing him accept an oscar. who would want to miss that??
actually, he looked like this…
ok, i am always rooting for the underdog. that’s the way i’m built, i like dark horses sailing past the thoroughbreds: there was kris allen last year whom i cheered for like a lunatic even though i was certain adam lambert would win. in the end, kris went on to take the prize and blew the betting odds.
this week, words like “rigged”, “upset” and “unexpected” are surfacing all over threads on idol news.
question: is it fair to say that this year lee pulled the rug from under crystal’s feet with another upset? can we even consider him the underdog?
of course, not. and here’s why:
for winning the 10th mirror ball trophy in dancing with the stars!
fil-am nicole scherzinger with pro partner derek hough. further proof that pinays got that natural rhythm!
fan art from a fantard (lifted from top idol):
i was hoping for a frau bait sing-off (lee vs. casey), but i have to admit crystal has some big talent. i still think lee has the mighty lead here, though we can never really predict how america votes. remember adam and kris last year? i loved kris because he was the cutest, but no one could have foreseen adam losing the plum. he was leading the pack so much that oddsmakers calculated a bet on adam as a losing one even if he wins; that is, they thought it was that obvious. but look at what happened!
i digress.
finals next week! go, lee ftw!
the review: movie week is a snoozefest but for the most die-hard of fans.
i haven’t seen the show yet (it is telecast here early evening), but i have read the real-time bloggers’ take on the episode and a fellow fantard’s opinions over ym.
…but siobhan didn’t sing the song i was wishing so hard she would sing. oh well, no harm in imagining.
i still think lee dewyze is the best.
oh lee… we are repainting our house… please sell us some paint.
lailalai (dssh)…
as jill looked up wedding songs and discussed wedding themes, i can’t help but imagine what songs and what theme i would have selected if my husband and i had a traditional wedding ourselves.
my husband and i both love music. and love it a lot. while we may not entirely agree on many songs, there is one genre and era that brings us together: motown.
