water for elephants, the historical novel about a traveling circus set in depression-era u.s., easily one of the best novels i’ve read in my life (my very quick review here), is being adapted for the big screen as we speak. of course, if you are one of the bat-sh** crazy robert pattinson fangirls, you know this by now.
the book, written by sara gruen, itself has gained a following even before talks of a movie adaptation surfaced. but when it was confirmed some time ago that mr. edward cullen himself was playing jacob, the following increased probably ten-fold thanks to the world’s most ravenous fans.

ah yes, the fragrance department. i must say my favorite part of department stores, but for the hard-selling. pushy salespersons aside, i love hanging around fragrance counters, testing new smells until i give rise to a veritable mount everest of tester strips in my bag. scents will never lose their fascination for me.
scents are such amazing things. some can get you refreshed and make you relax. some can energize and even seduce. so what are so many women still doing waiting for special occasions to wear fragrance? any day is a perfect day to smell good!

ah, yes, the ruffled skirt trend, the one that throws us back to our childhood. thankfully, designers have updated this little girl staple with sophisticated cuts and unexpected details.
still wondering how to wear it when you’re already over 17?
and i just wrote about andrew garfield in the previous entry. one of the most anticipated movies of the year involves 1) our future spider-man, 2) the golden standard of male pop artists and 3) the guy who gained our affections fighting zombies.
the social network, based on ben mezrich’s book the accidental billionaires: the founding of facebook, a tale of sex, money, genius and betrayal, premiers october 1 this year. that’s right, facebook. your favorite cyber hangout has a founding story rich enough for a red carpet premier in tinseltown. a history from six long(?) years ago.
the wait is finally over. taking the place of tobey maguire as peter parker in one of the most lucrative movie franchises in history is andrew garfield.
doll collectors and motorcycle enthusiasts of the world, here is the latest barbie and ken for harley-davidson.
i like them a lot. someone buy me the gift set please. i have to say ken is cute here — in a gossip girl kind of way. you know, brows furrowed a bit in concentration, eyes piercing the distance, mouth clenched like a silent snob. so i wonder what the big boys of hell’s angels have to say about it? well, he does have skulls tattoo on his forearm… still, he doesn’t look much of a biker to me. as for barbie, i wonder what the ladies of motoring say about her cream-colored jacket and trousers? though i believe these are taken from actual harley-davidson apparel. but i like her as a brunette this time and with cher’s hairstyle to boot. well, she does have a pierced navel…
