want-stricken in march
March 18th, 2010 by shallow

wanting is my least favorite feeling. that is, if you call that a feeling. otherwise, wanting is my least favorite action. because in order to satisfy it, one needs money. and if one is not willing to part with money, the feeling has to be suppressed. or the action has to be corrected, if you consider it that. whichever way one wishes to deal with wanting, it’s not a very pleasant business.

as for me, whenever i feel a strong sense of wanting things, i write about them. it gives me a feeling of accommodation… a very misplaced security, but security nonetheless. as if by committing images of these things in my blog makes them mine in a very existential sense. ok, it’s a very perverted view of consumerism, but it sure beats the hell out of overspending. besides, i’d probably end up actually purchasing one or two of the things in consideration (especially if they are on sale; in which circumstance, i can blame marketing for ruining my budget). then i can move on with my life.

chloe eau de parfum. chloe’s concoction bearing its signature represents the unfettered me.

blue fascinator. i’ve always wanted to wear a fascinator. i had opportunities during my 1) wedding (two of them in fact: in court and in church) and 2) during the melbourne cup event here last year. i grabbed neither opportunities. this year, i will be matron of honor in a wedding, so this is my chance. i can’t let this pass me by.

this particular butterfly fairy pendant. ok, if you’ve been looking around here a while, you will notice that i have a thing for flat laser-cut brass pendants. while i have never lost my urge to scour the world over for all necklaces in real-chandelier-form, i look towards other designs too. i am predictable, but i am not one-sided. i am particularly fond of this design because, unlike most fairy images, this one is wearing high-heels. and with her micro-mini tutu, curvaceous body and windswept hair, she looks like one of the victoria’s secret models bedecked in fantasy. in fact, i’m putting the golden butterfly fairy next to miranda kerr for reference.

nike hi-top retro toddler rubber shoes. for my two-year-old who dances each and every morning.

crystal cluster rings. instantly dresses up an outfit in just one finger.

filigree cuff. to go with the cluster rings.

pink boxing gloves. i don’t like pink. but as boxing gloves, i think it’s gorgeous.

what do you want?

photos from peach face, ebay, bracelets, bijoux de lou and jewelry recipes.
